This boat ran great when I left it last summer... Now I'm finally ready to start taking it out again and I get nothing when I press the start button. The batteries were drained dead so I replaced them, still nothing. On occasion I get one beep when pressing start.

I left the lanyard off and hit start five times, I get one chirp and one beep. I put the lanyard back on and get nothing. Any suggestions?

On mine I don't get any beeps when I put the lanyard on its post, so I don't think the solenoids are ever seeing a start signal.

clean the metal strip inside the landyard and the post, with an eraser. Did you check the fuese and condition of battery?

I had the exact same thing happen to my 96 sportster, as timmyboy hinted, it is probably a bad connection between the post and lanyard because my problem was solved when I bought a new lanyard and had it programmed to my MPEM.
