Yesterday I picked up a 96 speedster and a perfect condition trailer from a family friend for free. The boat is a twin 717. The boat hasn't ran in 3 years and he said one engine wasn't running. So I did a compression check on all 4 cylinders with no throttle and got 125psi on all 4. I put new plugs in, added some fuel cleaner and new fuel, sprayed some started fluid in the cylinders. And both engines fired up. Now the battery is toast. It looks like it's got the single battery conversion but the problem is I can't get them damn thing out. It's a interstate srm-24. Any help would be appreciated.

look, pulling the battery on a speedster just plains sucks. You gotta tilt it and jerk the f4$$%^^& from the side. Ya you can remove a lot of shit, like the exhaust, mid pipe and stuff. best thing...buy an AGM battery so you don't have to worry about spillage and it wont matter how you muscle it in. Unless its totally different from a 97 speedster which I'm currently trying to burn to the waterline, they suck as do all seadoos

He already said it has the single battery conversation. He will have to pull the oil tank. While that's out, might as well flush out the rv chambers and replace all the oil lines. Boats in the limbo stage are a pain in the arse. Just sold mine today!:hurray::thumbsup:

I pulled both my my batteries out without having to remove any other parts. They came out easy on my 1995 Speedster. The batteries are sealed, so you can tip them on the side if needed while removing them. You can clearly see in the picture that there is plenty of space to slide them right out.
