96 sp project color suggestions

just bought this 96 sp a few weeks back from the owner that said needs key and battery. (lol 150 and 25 compression in the engine) Pmed minni for a piston and ring (587) after I took the head off and he suggested taking the whole thing apart and looking it over so I did. Long story short wrist pin and bearing wore out and to much piston slap so everything else was ok. Bought a piston set from WSM and but it back together and now I have 155 and 160 in the engine. The question I have is I am going to sell in the spring so what can I do with the hood, steering pad and seat? The last owner painted over the original green with blue and did a horrible job. The seat is the same blue but believe it or not looks good did a good job recovering it. Should I look for the original green cover and pad and recover the seat? Should I repaint all to match and put decals on? Im ready for everones 2 cents what do you think? Mini do you have any original stuff?

If you decide to keep it put it back to the original colors. Since it sounds like you're going to sell it just repaint it in the color scheme the previous owner used, I have had great success using Krylon paint, you'll need to strip off the old paint.

On the seat you can probably use a heat gun and just tighten up the cover and re-staple.

tighten up & restaple the seat (I might have a couple yards of blue vinyl, (cheap !) i'll look tonight)

not that easy to get old paint off, might be sanding/prepping then re-painting is the only option besides replaceing the hood

seat is just fine I think if I go to all purple it would be more apealing than the blue but it will cost a little more too

check around for a local vinyl retailer..., canvas company, etc... ask them if they have remnants laying around

when I was flipping a bunch, i bought vinyl remnants at like $5 a yard, they always had stuff left over.

almost done kept the blue seat and used sem vinyl paint for the hood and pad. Rebuilt motor and carb started right up and seems to run fine. added new grips some decals and am just waiting for the sp - seadoo decal for the hood. For sale sign will go on next week thanks for the 2 cents all.
