I am getting no fire to plugs, i ohmed the two coil wires with the boots removed and it ohms 14 k should be 9k to 15k. I checked the pulse from the motor at the coil it is lighting up test light. I checked both fuses and both were good replace them any way. iF I AM GETTING PULSE TO COIL is it bad even though it ohs out ok. Or is there something I am missing. I also have a new battery. and two new plugs Is the rev limiter built in to the module. I know there is someone who knows... Thanks for your time.

Between the stator, and the coil... there is one wire that splits off, and goes to the MPEM. Disconnect it, and see if you get fire.

That wire is how the MPEM kills the engine. (goes to ground) If the MPEM is bad, or there is a short in the wire... it will keep you from starting. BUT... with that wire disconnected, you won't have a rev limiter, or a "Kill" switch... so don't actually start the engine without it hooked up.

If that's the prob... your MPEM is bad. If that's not the prob... I would say your coil is bad. On the 720 engine... the coils have an CDI built into it, and the internal CDI has gone bad.

Thank you. I un pluged the wire that splits off yesterday no fire still. I was not sure the coil had a CDI built in. I will try a coil and let you know if that works. Thanks again.

Have same boat same problem. Let us know how it turns out. We are guessing coil.

The boat was running great at 5k rpms then shut down immediately.
