So we have been at Smith Mountain Lake in VA all week tearing it up. My daughter just got her boater's license and she had a blast driving Shamu. She then told me there was something wrong with it. It would not go over about 30 MPH. I jumped on and it revved like crazy but it would not go. So I immediately thought we lost a wear ring. It was then that my wife asked if the shift lever not being all the way down was a problem. I looked at it and sure enough, the lever was up a little. Not a lot, but you could see it was not all the way down. I slammed it down and of course it ran full speed like normal. SO, I learned not to jump to conclusions with the trouble shooting. And I will remember that when we get a member with an issue like this. If you rig the cable incorrectly, you could have that stupid bucket get in the way and create chaos!
