Can someone pls let me know how to get a 1996 GTI into diagnostic mode and also what the beeps mean after replacing the lanyard? I'm getting a single beep when I hit the start/stop button and the same beep when I put the lanyard on. It seems that the trick on most skis is to remove the lanyard, hit the start button 5 times, replace the lanyard and listen for the beeps. But there are many posts around this and I can't find one specific to a 96 GTI.
I'd like to get it into diag mode and see what the true response is. Thanks.
