I finally got my gsx running great thanks to many of you on this forum.
So yesterday I was out riding and ran out of gas since the gas gauge didn't work. Kept trying to turn it over until I realized that was the problem. So I went to the gas station and fueled up. Someone was also nice enough to drive into my trailer while i was there (irrelevant?)

The ski was running great until I ran it out of gas.
Now when I hook the key up I get no beeps, it will turn over but I have no spark.

I cleaned all of the ground connections in the rear box and I do have both ground wires hooked up to the battery.
And all fuses are good.

Is there any test that I could do to see if the coil is being told to fire from the computer?
Or if the trigger is telling the computer?

MPEM? coil? im lost....

There's a white wire that runs from the trigger pickup, to the rear E-box. Take a test light or a voltmeter and see if the trigger is firing. If you don't see a pulse the trigger coil inside the front mag. cover has probably come loose.

Here is what I am going to guess happened. You ran out of gas, tried to start it for a long time, ran the battery low.

I had a 96 GSX for a few summers, whenever I had a low battery (I had a cheap walmart everstart battery), it wouldnt spark or would put out super low spark. After I charged it up for a while, boom spark was back and I was going again.

Since you said it was running good that would be my best guess. Charge the battery up on a trickle charger overnight and try to start tomorrow. Remember dont start the ski with power plugged into the battery!!!!

Yep, that makes more sense than what I said, if the battery falls below 10.5 volts, it won't activate the MPEM, so no spark. So try the battery first.

Y'all will have to excuse me, we've been at the Lake three days running and my brain is a little fried.

The battery did die from cranking it over so much. But I did charge it all last night and the battery is strong now and turns over very fast. Is there anything that I may have to reset since the battery got so low?

I removed the battery from the ski while it was charging.

and I cant seem to find the white wire. Is it located where the stator plugs in on the from?

The white wire runs from the plug in the mag. cover and runs to the rear E-box, remove the top cover on the E-box and I think the wire is on the left side toward the top of the board, I'm going from memory. You may want to check the service manual.

I dont have any white wires coming out of the mag cover. (there is one yellow one with a white tracer). I plan on taking the mag cover off within the next couple days to see if my trigger coil is broken loose anyways. So i will let youi all know

Also I had beeps the other day before this problem started. If it were to be the trigger coil would that cause me to have no beeps?

The 2 beeps you get when you put the key on the post is the MPEM saying that it recognizes the key and it is OK to start the ski. If it does not recognize the key you would get one beep that is slightly longer. If your MPEM was toast you would get no beeps and would not be able to turn the engine over.

Because you can turn the engine over tells me your key and DESS post are working, which in turn tells me that your beeper is not working.

I wonder if all of that turning over caused the plugs to foul out with oil. I would replace the plugs, trim 1/4" off of the spark plug wires and try again. I'm betting its something simple

I did try replacing the plugs with no luck. I also used a spark tester between plug wire and plug and found no spark.
Must just be coinsidence that beeper stopped working at the same time. It was tempermental in the past. I will check and get back with the voltage reading while turning over. Thanks!

Voltage while turning over is 11.9 which should be plenty for spark Id assume. Took mag cover off and the trigger coil is not dangling. I ordered a CDI, going to try that and see what happens. Ill let yall know
