96 gsx, couple of questions, need help.

Charging system should put out 14.5-14.8 VDC. Bring the engine up to 5500 rpm if the voltage is over 15V your regulator is bad.

Straight from the 96 service manual, section 08-03-1.

I guess I shouldn't assume that that should have been self explainatory. Pretty hard to read a meter at 5500 RPM while trying to drive. I know, it could be done on a trailer, but that wouldn't be as funny. Thanks brotha for the follow up.:thumbsup:

Yes, not in the water as 1995HX stated.
 
honestly you have to admit that would be quite a feat to check this at about 44mph running down the river at 5500 rpm.

Im gonna try it when i come down there later this month I can see it now hood open on the hx at 50 mph checking the charging system. Tho I can adjust the carbs while riding now Idk about this
