96 787 no beep, no click, nothing

New to me ski, fresh battery, no blown fuses. when lanyard is placed on dess, info gauge lights up, all four indicators light come on, then everything goes off. Without key, same result when pressing start button. When key is placed on dess, immediately get the same result. Jumped starter solenoid, engine turns over beautifully. Not sure where to look next.

I would probably test the beeper so you can find out if it is trying to give you a problem code. Seems like the ski is not recognizing the key.

DId it work when you got it or was it always like this?

I picked up the XP not running. Previous owner didn't know anything about it.

I can test MPEMs, and program DESS keys in Raleigh, NC 27615 if you are relatively close.
