Am I going crazy or is something off? I swore this fuel fitting on this cover has a restrictor in it but I am able to spray carb cleaner through way too easily. Thoughts?

Shouldn't be I would assume. The 951 carb I have here looks different than that one. But the hole is wide open like yours, no restrictor.

This is from a 2000 XP, that cover is on the pto side that has the acc pump. For some reason I always remember being able to spray carb cleaner through that nipple ( on other 951 carbs ) but it had a restriction that didnt let all the spray to pass at once.

I'll be into this set I have in the next few days. I'll let you know. But I remember seeing a round green thing on the lines before.

I think you're referring to the fuel return of the PTO carb and yes it's the same orifice as the MAG carb fuel return, surprisingly small based on my memory.

I thought the orifice was drilled in the casting by the factory but perhaps there is an insert (brass/plastic?) I wasn't aware of...

It's been awhile since I had mine apart and I'm not in the habit of working on skis if I can avoid it.

Ok I did find out that this cover is suppose to be restricted and it seems the one I have in my hands has been messed with by someone in the past. I am assuming someone tried to un-clog it and now it flows a lot more fuel. I can see heavy scratches inside so who knows. I have another cover on order.

That cover is not supposed to have a restrictor. It's the fuel supply, not the return. If you look at the carb body, you will see the tiny hole (restrictor) that leads to the return lines.

Chester is correct about the fuel supply, none of them will have a restrictor in the supply. There's no restrictor in the fuel pump pulse port.

They both will have a restrictor in the fuel return. MAG carb fuel return nipple is the Tee fitting.
