RESTO 95 XP800 Resto Thread

Finishing touches going on today. Waiting for a sheet of turf for the bumpers, a new VTS gauge/boot and a set of Worx sponsons to wrap things up cosmetically.

Still need to put the gray box and harnesses in, suck the old oil out of the tank, and hard jet the pipe. Since I’m ahead of the game I’ll likely pull the nozzle components off and powder coat them so everything matches. Excited for spring!

Thought I’d update.. haven’t forgotten about the ski, but haven’t made any progress since around Christmas. With a crazy work schedule and below zero temperatures it’s been hard to get motivated.

I do have a Westcoast head, R&D nozzles, Worx sponsons and a hard jet kit on the way though, so I’m sure that’ll get me motivated. More progress soon!

Checking back in here. Has anyone ever replaced the OEM Hi-Lo screws that hold the rear e-box in the hull? The holes in the fiberglass are stripped and I contemplated rivnuts, but access is tight on the rearmost hole. I guess I could just go up a screw size but wanted to see if anyone has any better ideas.

Alright, need some assistance. Searched and didn’t find any answers I haven’t already tried. 15A fuse in rear e-box blows as soon as battery cables are connected. Fuse won’t blow if 6-pin plug on mag cover is unplugged. Pulled mag cover and tested resistance on stator & it’s within 0.0-0.6 ohms across all three pins. Cleaned pickup coil and it looks like it’s in decent shape. Could a bad rectifier cause this?? Gauges don’t light up and I don’t get 2 beeps either. All fuses in MPEM and relay in gray box are good. Kind of at a loss here..
