Hello and my question is this , after last winter i went to start the ski and it acted like it was hydraulic locked but finally started and oil just poured out the exhaust , i mean liquid oil and a lot of it , i shut it down right away and restarted it and it did this again , i went looking for info and someone said i had a middle crank seal go bad

it sat all last summer and just now i pulled the motor thinking it would need work and found liquid oil in the bottom of the crankcase its like full of oil

it has me wondering is there some kind of 1 way check valve on the oil line that failed and let the oil drain into the motor from the oil tank since its higher

or would that seal being bad allow the motor to suck that much oil out of the tank

sorry for my lack of knowledge about the oil tank and lines , im just trying to figure out if i could just ditch the oil tank and run mix in the gas and save me a huge repair bill

any suggestions if i need motor work who to have do it?

im thinking about this place http://www.fullboreonline.com/rebuilt_seadoo_engine.htm

any and all info is appreaciated so i can make a informed decision

thanks again for your time and patience

Unfortunately no....these motors have a rotory valve which is run by a worm gear setup. It is housed in the middle of the motor and has an oil bath. It has the 1/2" lines on each side of the motor.

What happens is those seals on the crank that hold the oil in get weak or get damaged by shards of gear. Typically they leak so slow it isnt an issue, but when it hydrolocks after sitting a few days it must be fixed.

ok thank you very much for the info , big repair bill here i come , lol

You will also know EXACTLY what you have. If the engine is fine otherwise it isnt gonna be over a G...alot less if you plan on doing some of it yourself.

Your crank guy will be able to tell you if it needs any bearings replaced since the crank has to come all the way apart.
