Hi all, new here! I have a 95 spi that I parked 3 years ago because of electrical problems. Motor is fine, it would start sometimes no problem, shut it off to get jacket on and wouldnt restart, no crank no nothing. Next time you go out it would start again, then last ride it just quit, and battery is fine! Electrical malfunction of something, just wanna get it running and sell it, any help would be appreciated!

It didnt click at all? Sounds like a malfunctioning teather post if it doesnt click....or a ground issue maybe.

I would get the grey box out and look it over.

I have used post available if you need it.

Thats where I thought also, but it seems to open and close with continuity on it? There is a total lack of power, everything is dead! Grey box? what should I be looking for? I looked at this thing 3 years ago and just drug into the garage and havent been at it yet, and thanks!

Typically when the MPEM is bad it will turn over but no spark. B/c the ground wire is short it isnt usually a problem on those models, but I would go over them...maybe you'll find water in the ebox...who knows. It will be a fun one if you dont find a glaring problem.

Super long shot but maybe its a faulty battery? doesnt sound like it but stranger things have happened.

Well there was no water ever found in anything, and the battery was changed and still did the same thing, so ya my thoughts were MPEM also, but I will check all grounds again. It was just so intermittent, go for weeks no problem, then act up again. Ride for a day then next day same thing, it was just a spare for when company came, so having it break down wasnt fun for them. Thanks for your help

well it would be a first...all the MPEM failures I have seen/read about its usually no spark but turns over. The 92s has a relay that would wear out the connectors...I wonder if one of the fuses have a connector down in the MPEM coming loose...or maybe a failing fuse? I have had fuses that caused intermittant issues...mostly the VTS one in XPs. They showed fine on a meter, but the VTS wouldnt work. switched it out and it started working again.

Again...long shot answers, but worth a try.

I had a '95 spi that did the same thing. The pick-up plate on the flywheel was loose/defective.

And that caused it to not even try to turn over?? That doesnt make any sense. OP says it doesnt even click like the teather is off.

Yes fuses can be bastards, so maybe I should swap them all to be sure. And as for the flywheel, this thing doesnt crank, click or nothing, just like there was no battery in it!

Mine was a random shut down.

Yours may be losing the ground to the MPEM, so nothing else works as the Brain must sense the lanyard, stop/start ect. I suggest you
unplug the stator plug on the magnito top and start there, Seadoo uses BLACK as ground so check that first on the magnito side, useing
an Ohm meter. Use a car 12v headlamp with two wires attached to use as a load tester, for battery to solenoid to starter.
