95 SPI fuel gauge problem.

Hello, I have a 1995 SPI. The fuel gauge was reading empty when the tank was 1/2 full. I removed the sender and found that the magnet had fallen off. I picked up a new float and installed it. Now it always reads full. I ran the float up and down the baffle and it never changed. always reads full. Any ideas.

Got it fixed. I removed the brass nut on the back of the gauge and reseated the plug under it. Works fine now.
