Hello, could someone tell me what is this thing that sticks out of the side of the boat? I'm looking to purchase a boat that looks like this one but this thing was broken off. Is it something that I need to be concerned about?

Thanks for the quick reply... I'm not sure what a vent plug do, is it important to get it replace or fixed..? Right now, there is a small exposed tube sticking out of the boat...

yeah, you need it replaced. That tube will allow water, to backfeed into tank.

Are you sure that is the vent for the fuel tank Timmy? I have the same boat and mine is broken off as well I have traced it and I think it is the vent for the batteries. On mine the rubber piece broke off but you can still see what looks to be a check valve and knitting thread. The fuel vent on mine is on the other side because when i overfill it sometimes it spits out a little fuel.

Diesel is right, it's the battery vent. The fuel vent is on the starboard side.
