I Have a 1995 seadoo speedster. Last weekend we put it in the lake for the first time of the year. The sparkplugs were new at the end of last year. Both enjines started fine after a couple of minutes and new batteries. That night it ran fine but after about 20 min of running the motors started to rev real high the dip down to like 4 from 7 full throttle. It would progressivly get worse. evenntually only the right engine would start. Even when the throttles are not at full it still revs up then dies down.At first I thought it was because it ran out of gas but we filled it up and it still did it. the engines both did this so i am really clueless it has never happened before. When i was driving the boat down to the ramp with 1 engine to take it out of the water to fix it back in town i heard a click and the steering was unresponsive. Both of the outlets turn left but only the left engine outlet turns both ways the right outlet turns left only not right. any ideas?

Check the Carbs and...

First thing you need to do is check to be sure your getting fuel.. Could be the filters in the carbs are clogged if you still have he gray fuel lines.. You will need to pull the carbs to check the internal filter.. As for the steering there is a linkage piece between the two nozels.. Check to see if a bolt didn't fall out that ties them together. Sounds like the sttering cable is OK if one side is turning..

thanks for the advice ill be shure to check those. I'm pretty shure the night it started acting up it ran out of fuel. Do you think that has anything to do with it?

Are you using the same oil as last year? In the begining of the season I always mix 5-7 gallons premix and mark the oil tank to be sure it is drinking, once I know the oil system is working then I just add more gas and go. By now if you are still using OEM grey fuel lines you really need to take the time to insure your fuel system can deliver steady fuel flow, steel gas can trash and the goo from the grey lines will make your playtime shrink really fast.

So would it be a good idea to replace all the lines and filters and premix gas?

The premix is just a precaution to start the season, using it while observing that the OEM oiling stuff works by droping from the mark on the tank, if you have grey lines you are overdue for fuel plumbing replacement. using premix gets you going in a pinch.

Ok so got both engines started at leas on saturday. I took the factory air boxes and filters out the filters looked pretty bad so i think im going to replace them on my 96 spx I have a K&n filter it seems to do really well I wonder if I should get two of them for the speedster and replace the factory air boxes? The fuel filters also got cleaned and that seemed to help. Are the two white connectors on opposite sides of the engine bay with red caps where you would hook a hose up to each motor individually to flush it? Also I checked the steering it wasn't a missing bolt, the right outlet moves to the left but not right the left outlet moves both ways though any ideas?

can anyone give me a link to where i could by the connector that fits on the hose end to flush my year (1995) speedster, thanks!:)

There is linkage between the two nozzles.. Check to be sure nothing is bent, the piece between them should be straight.. Have someone turn the wheel and watch the nozzles.. Look for parts that don't move or do move when they shouldn't
