anyone know how i go about removing the jam nut and washer on the back of the hull to remove the steering cable?

Well to answer my own question...there's a nut on the inside in the back of the hull that you can loosen and help you remove the cable...too bad I didn't get that far. I started up front and removed the steering cable from the steering arm...only to find out that the steering cable works just fine...and the handle bars still won't turn all the way left..with the cable removed from it...interesting I thought. So I pulled the cover off the handle bars and found out there was a nut...that came from one of the handle bars...that had gotten loose and jamed the steering up...I'm just happy I caught it before I removed the whole cable...so I guess check for that if you have any steering locking issues...before your cable....I haven't found many threads that deal with steering...so at least this one will be here

An answer, in case ya wanna pull it out, lock in vise, grease, and work the grease in.
Outside hull, there is a Stainless ring you pull off, and the "split nut" falls apart.
You'll have to remove the Heim connector as its too big to pull the cable into the hull
with it on. Bill
