Hey all,

My wife wants to take a couple with us out on the lake this weekend. My boat is a 95 speedster twin engines. I know the weight limit posted on the boat is 650 lbs, but the one guy is a little over weight. I'm guessing I would be 50 lbs over the max weight limit. Anyone ever put four people in this kind of boat or am i pushing my luck. We wanted to go tubing.

Thanks

Stability OK

I had 6 people in mine once, worst problem was visibility but stability was OK although I didnt do fast turns. Your worst risk is getting caught.

well I blew up my engine.. after I put over 750 pounds on it??

Im not sure if that is why... the boat says 650 lbs.

Your worst risk is getting caught.

Wow 6 people I don't think I would have attempted that! I think i'm gona give it a go. It says the limit is 4 persons, and if i'm towing one of these people I think I'll be good. I just wanted to get some others input before I went foward. I don't want to sink my boat. That wouldn't be good!

Thanks

By the books in PA, the towed skiier must be calculated within your gross weight.

Your major concern will be NJ state police if you're on the Delaware river. PA fish and game rangers everywhere else in the state. In most situations, you won't get nabbed ON the water. You'll get caught when you pull back up to the dock and unload at the end of the day.

It's not worth the risk if you're on the river!

Nittany Lion,

This is funny to me! When you come to the dock do they weigh eveyone that gets off the boat! I being serious, what is the fine like?

I would say that your scale is off there no way my wife weighs that much! :hat:

Anyway thanks everyone.
