Hello

I have a 95 GTX that I think is in good condition but I've realized two issues that I hope you guys could help me with..

1) I think its consuming alot of gas. I haven't had a previous seadoo so I can't compare but its almost burning more then a car. I think my fuel tank fits about 50L. When used with a full tank, my seadoo would go empty with about 4-5 hours of use. Is this normal? It does emit a smell of gas from the exhaust that I just assumed was normal but there are no signs of leaks anywhere. I mean, God, its spending more then my honda civic. What can this be?

2) I haven't had to fill oil in my GTX since last year cuz I still see quite a bit of oil in the oil tank. I'm wondering whether the oil injector is working or not. How much oil should it be burning? Or how often, on average, should oil be added? I'm currently adding a pour of oil with every full tank just in case the injector isn't working but I need to know if this is normal. So far it has been driven for about 30 hours and I've realized a decrease in the oil tank of about 2 L only (half).

Thank you all for your help

Simon

Hi Simon,

Yep, these are real gas hogs, if you're getting 4-5 hours on a tank of gas you're doing really well. Aggressive riding will be even less. Here's a link explaining it more:

Oil consumption varies on how you ride your ski. If you ride wide open you get approximately 40:1 oil to gas ratio. Less aggressive you'll use less oil, I'll use about a quart every 2-3 fill ups, I'm really just guessing here.
