So new to the forum hope im posting this in the right area.
My 95 gts runs but not good. From idle if I gun it to wide open throttle it will die. Wait a couple minutes and restart it and it will get up to wot but sputters or surges not sure which. Don't have any grey fuel lines. Just replaced fuel filter but it wasn't clogged pretty clear.. When out of water if I full throttle just for a sec sounds like it's rev limiting. Any ideas would help. Thanks again.

You’ve got a fuel problem, and most likely need a carb rebuild. The internal passages get clogged and the ethanol in today’s fuel will start making the diaphragm material get brittle over time. Pick up a GENUINE Mikuni cab kit (NO AFTERMARKET!!) and follow the carb rebuild sticky on the forum and she should be good to go...

Thanks that's what I thought but wanted top make sure before I put in the work on the carb. Just curious if anyone knows if it's possible to just buy a whole new carb? Want to replace the old one and spend the colder months dinking around with the rebuild.

I have never replaced a carb, just go thru the carb and you should be fine. And out of the water, of course, your rev limiter will kick in.

I have never replaced one in 25 years until I got my wife's 2003 GTI. I know these carbs inside and out and that one was never right no matter how many times I went through it.

I finally admitted defeat and bought a brand new carb from OSD and the ski came to life and never has run better. It was the single best thing I did to that ski.

Thanks guys. I just notice that the o ring on the fuel filter is toast. And was leaking gas. I wonder if this could be my problem.

Seems like you may have found it, ,,for partial verification, start it, run it for a few seconds, shut it off, then check the level of fuel in the filter/separator...the bowl shud be full.

So I just took it out and used an inline fuel filter... bypassed the stock canister. Ran rough at first, I think it was clearing the air out of the line, Then ran great topped out at 40mph. Sputtering went away for the most part but acceleration still seemed slow. I could just be used to my spi though :D

Glad you got it figured out. Now just be sure to replace the o ring on the factory separator and get that inline filter out of there...

D615, is correct, you don't know what is at the bottom of your tank. Sure seems like a fuel delivery issue.

Just a note on the fuel filter/water seperator oring - I recently took mine out and noticed it was an incorrect type, a round edged one. Bought the correct square edged one but when looking online some places are selling the round edged as a replacement. Make sure you get the square edged one.
