Hey guys. I just bought a 1994 Seadoo Bombardier XP and I am new to the jet ski world. It has been riding fine but yesterday after riding for about 40 minutes or so the jet ski suddenly shut down. I tried to start it back up and it was trying to but no full ignition occurred. I was towed to the docks and once I was there it started right back up with no problem and no maintenance. My brother took the jet ski out and the same thing happened after about 10 minutes. Once he was pulled back to shore it once again started right back up right before I loaded it onto the trailer. I am not a pro mechanic at these things, but does anyone know what I could do/ what it could be?! Please help! Thanks guys!

Sounds like you are overheating the ski.

Try this. Put your lanyard on... and lift the seat off. On top of the engine you will see a temp sender. Take the wire off of it, and ground it to something. You should hear a buzzer. I'm betting, you won't hear it. Most older SeaDoo's, that buzzer goes bad.
