What a Mess...after not using my 2 skis for couple years one started up ok. The other with a new engine not even broke in fully didn't want to start or even turn over well.
Change battery and all thinking not enough juice, no change, ended up remove plugs and see if turn over without resistance, front cylinder blew oil/fuel enery where.
Great.. trying to get to lake next weekend right.

I siphoned as much out of cylinder as could and blew rest out, couple diferent times, replaced plugs and got it started, rough of course at first but it eventully ran good.

My winterizing capabilaties are in question, i relaized i had left the fuel switch on, and my thought is that "Maybe" the oil/fuel siphoned its way to cylinder over couple years time, via the carb and intake. Does that sound plasible to you guys?

Only other things are the RPM & Gas gauge's not working, concerns with the RPM and possible issues that might result from it not working, like rev limiter or a engine safe operating condition!
The engine is new and the carbs were rebuilt at that time, previous break in time on water it ran perfect in that regard. I don't recall weather RPM gauge worked or not then.

I'm pretty sure the RPM "gauge" has nothing to do with motor performance...just because the gauge doesn't work, doesn't mean the rev limiter will malfunction..you're going to need to do all your basic maintenence and preventative steps such as cleaning fuel tank, lines, filters, etc, especially on two 1994 xp's...if your carbs were redone and then you let them sit for a "couple" of years, I would do maintenence on them before i took them out...just sayin...

Oil leaked through the seals probably from sitting. It happens.
If you got it running its fine. Going to smoke for a while.

These carbs will not leak gas/oil into the motor. Its normal from sitting. Now...lets say you go to them in two weeks and it wont turn over b/c they are full again...then you have to fix it. If they start and smoke...its on you if you want to worry about all the oil you are burning/spewing.

first thing Thanks for the advise you guys!
I got her running- yea- removed gas tank cleaned out on both units, fornd my gas gauge magnet in bottom of each tank. made repairs for gauges one works now the other not yet will look again.
I cleaned out the exhaust due to so much oil being pushed through it was going all over my cement when i was running.
After replacing gas tank and fresh fuel she ran good when the smoke cleared. Checked compression, 125 each cyl.
I did some other tests with water hooked up like flush and let her run couple of 5 min cycles. Fund that it took awhile for water pressure indicator at rear to show water coming through, pinched water outlet hose and better but noticed water outlet not a good quanity coming out at all like my other ski. So i pulled the hose right at engine to make sure, yes water coming through but not much flow at all.
My other XP Ski water outlet is like a hose running when doing same tests/ running and flushing.
NOT sure which unit to belive, i would think the one with good water strem from outlet port would be what i want to see? Might not be an issue once i get the to the lake, but dont want to over heat either.....
How about a 1 2 3 for this greenhorn on carb maintenance after sitting for two yrs.
Again- Thanks for the great advise, I really appreciate it!!!

would pull all hoses one at a time and shoot air thru them.

There are lots of threads on carbs...I would advise a complete rebuild with Genuine kits, and new needles and seats. Also new fuel lines, clean the fuel selector and fuel water separator out.

big Jake....somehow you always come up with the right answer.

patient to Doc, it hurts when i raise my arm this high....
Doc to patient - then don't raise it that high
