I was trying to start my unit, and was turning over great, but then it went clunk, took plugs out and when I try to turn it by hand it will only turn either direction about 1/8 turn, pistons are moving when it turns, feels like something inside stopping it. I removed starter thinking that might be the problem, bugger to get to, but that was not the problem. Please help!

Could be the jet pump. Visually check it, and if you don't see any problems, you may want to pull it. It that's not the culprit, pop the head and check the pistons/cylinders.

Well had the time to work on it today, pump ok, looks as if something got into the rotary valve, not sure what, and upon continuing inspection, one of the pistons is badly scored, so could have been a piece of that. Looks to be rebuilt engine time. Thanks for all the tips!

Sorry to hear about the find. Can you post a couple of photos of the RV area and pistons? I don't think a part of a piston would go into the RV area.

IMG_20130729_182158_201.jpgHere are the photos, looks like a busted ring, cylinder looks ok, head a little pitted. RV area, washer fell into carb and into RV. probably good thing it did, I never would have went any further looking for problems. But I will get it fixed up, really on a learning curve now!
Thanks
