Ok..

1.) New Engine
2.) There is a "block" on the oil injection system, so I am running premixed
(HP2 32:1)
3.) The Carbs have been rebuilt

I have it so it starts right up, but when I give it 1/2 throttle, it bogs down and sputters...

also, it seems to do just fine in the water in Neutral (I can give it full throttle, and it screams pretty good (so no bog down in N under full throttle)...

Any Ideas? Too lean? Too Rich? Where should by low speed adj be? High Speed adj?

Thanks ahead of time...

I'm not sure that I understand the problem.

Are you saying the ski won't go full throttle while on the trailer? If this is the case its not supposed to, the rev. limiter is kicking in.

If the ski is not going to full throttle while in the water. Do you still have the original gray fuel lines?

I have it in the water...

In Nuetral, it seems to run full throttle, but while actually riding it, it will bog down and sputter at anything more than half throttle...

The original Grey Lines are still in it. Are they not good? What is the matter with them?

THE problem is:

It will run and idle just fine. BUT, when I ride it, I can't get anything more than half throttle before it starts to bog down and lose power...

It seems like it is not getting enough fuel (or getting too much)...

Gray line is notorious for breaking down from the inside out. Clogging things up and causing a real mess. You'll find all kinds of posts and threads on here that HIGHLY recommend that you throw out all the gray lines and start over. (Next on my to-do list for my '96 GTS once I figure out the problem with the '99 GTX....) Always something....

Gray Fuel Lines

The gray fuel lines have two layers held together with an adhesive. Over time the adhesive deterioates and leaves a green goo throughout the fuel delivery system.

You should change all the fuel lines to a 1/4" black rubber fuel line, available at autoparts stores, I got mine at CarQuest. You'll need about 20' (25' if you replace the vent lines), and about 20 stainless steel hose clamps.

In addition you will also need to clean and/or replace the main fuel filter and the carb. filters. Also you should clean or replace the fuel selector valve (I replaced mine).

There are several threads in this forum that goes into greater detail.

Gray Fuel Lines

Definately. Mine was doing the same thing. After I finished not only was the ski running better, I also gained 4mph.

Fuel Selector Valve

The fuel selector valve and the fuel selector switch is the same thing.

If you are telling me that you need to run it in reserve position then this is another symptom of needing to replace the grey fuel hoses. The normal position for the valve is Main.

Even with block-off kit, Injection oil is recommended as any lube used can seep past
the seals and into the lower case where it needs to mix to get used. Hope this helps
you determine why. Bill

Anything else?

I have the carb off...

1.) I cleaned the fuel filters in the carbs (they were a little green, but not really too bad, although I do not know what "bad" is) Anyways, they are CLEAN now...

2.) I have the fuel selector valve off, and sprayed them pretty good with carb cleaner (a bit of green goo came out)...

3.) I replaced the grey lines with black lines

4.)ANYTHING ELSE that I can do (while I have the carb off)?

THANK YOU AHEAD OF TIME....

pop off

OK, I also need to know how to set the pop off pressure on the carbs, while I have them off... ...They have been rebuilt, but my brother (who rebuilt them) didn't know about pop off pressure... ...should I buy the pop off pressure gauge from sbt?

if you installed the little sprin, that came from the carb, and not ones from the rebuild kit, then you'll be fine.

Thank you

I just want to post an update to any one that reads this thread... ....It worked!!! I changed the Grey Fuel Lines for Black, I cleaned the fuel filters (both in the Hull and in the Carbs) and I cleaned the Fuel Selector Switch...

AND SHE RAN LIKE SHE WAS NEW!!!!
