so over the winter my battery went dead and I put a trickle charger on the battery to charge it back up (the battery cable where still connected to the battery from the ski)

took the ski out and everything was fine for a while, then all of the sudden as I was going across the lake it lost all power (not engine power, but electrical power).

pushed the starter and I get nothing, no cranking, no clicking, fuel gauge doesnt even work anymore. total loss of electrical power.

doing some searching and looking at manual, there is mention of a 5a and a 15a fuse located in the MPEM. I am new to this and not sure where the MPEM is located or even how to get to the fuses, I am not sure what it looks like to find it in the hull.

does the fuse being blown sound like the culprit? I am guessing I should of disconnected the battery terminals before charging.

So if anybody can help a newbie find the location of the MPEM and how to check the MPEM if the fuses are fine, that would be greatly appreciated. IF the fuses/mpem check out what would be the next step??

It is better to disconnect the battery first, but trickle chargers shouldnt cause any problems.

The MPEM is in the grey Ebox on the left side of the gas tank. Make sure to check your ground wire too.

Ok I blew the 5amp fuse. I replaced the fuse and bumped the starter and it engaged the starter. I didn't actually run it because it's late. It seems to be fixed and fine now. Is it possible to just blow that fuse and the MPEM can still be ok. If I blow another fuse I am assuming I will have to replace the diode. Is there a way to test the MPEM without tearing into it. I won't be charging battery with the battery still connected to the ski anymore.
