Hello, my first post here and, of course, I've got issues.
When I got the ski it had an exhaust leak in the engine compartment and a slight oil drip out the exhaust when running (a drip drip drip type leak). Oil was not going into the hull.
The exhaust leak was fixed with a gasket and some welding. No more smoke in engine compartment. However, it now has a near steady stream of oil coming out of the exhaust (along with smoke). Not drips, ounces. Unless I am completely mistaken it is coming out of the water exhaust hole (don't know proper name).
Original story was that there was just some oil build up in the exhaust and it would work itself out. Now the story is it's a crankseal leak, which requires a crankshaft!?! Other than that, it starts and runs great
I'm fairly engine literate and knew my way around 2 stroke motorcycles about 20 years ago. All help is appreciated and I'm guessing based on the weekend that most of the master mechanics here are actually out on their functional equipment so I'll be patient.
Mike
