89 sp electrical problem

Doo will start but only by holding starter and releasing kill switch its like they are backwards anybody maybe know the answer?

You have a lanyard saftey switch, a start button and a kill button. Whats the History
of this ski?

Its the lanyard switch if I pull it off it starts and runs if I hold the starter button. The ski run right the first few times I started it then did this replaced the switch harness and it worked again for a few starts and went back to no fire to the plugs till I remove lanyard and held starter down any ideas I'm at a loss and don't know a lot about these

The old ski's will crank if you push the start button without the lanyard... but it won't "Run" without it.

Once you release the starter button, does it continue to run?

It sounds like you're kill switch is faulty, or connected wrong. Try testing the switch for contenuity in both positions... (disconnected from the ski of course)
