Hi to all,

First time back this year. I have a 1996 GTI it seems the starter is bad. I think last year I read some of you guys posted not to get the aftermarket starters. I read they don't last. Some say to get the OEM starter. Big difference in price. Any input on this would be great.

Most aftermarket are horrible. You will be pulling it back out.

If yours is an OEM starter, order a brush kit and install them. That is almost always all that is wrong.

If not, find a used OEM and install new brushes before you install it.
