I'm thinking of swapping out the twin 717's on my sportster 1800 and dropping 787's, is this something that can be done without any modifications to the enginea mounts, driveshafts, electronics, does the MPEM control the spark timing. Anyone ever done such a swap?

done it to seadoo hx. motor mount are different as well as the electronics..expensive to do unless you can get the parts really cheap..probably better off selling it and buying boat with twin 800 spark timing is controled my stator and pick up

Yeah, it would be better to buy another boat. I gues the main issue here would be spark timing being controlled by the MPEM.

Yeah, I have a boat that the previous owner did this exact "upgrade" too. It's a total nightmare. I wish the boat was stock.

You would need a lot of parts and would have to modify the engine mounts. I would buy a boat with the engine you want. Devon.
