717 engine in 95 seadoo won't start

Hey
So what I have is a 1995 seadoo xp with a 717 engine from, maybe, a 1997 something.
I just completed putting everything together, went pretty smooth, until I tried cranking the engine.
When I try to press the start/stop button, the 4 red lights turns on for a little while, then battery and temp light go out. Then when I try to press the start button again nothing happens, except when I push it a couple of times I get what sounds like one short beeb and one longer. The temp light comes on while it's beeping.
I can only get it to do the beebs one time, then after that the lights sometimes go out, sometimes they dont.
I took the lanyard safety switch apart, it was rusted together. I then connected the to wires that go to the switch, cause that will do the same thing right?
The weird thing is that it doesn't matter if I connect the wires together from the lanyard safety switch, the lights and beebs is still there.
Anyone able to help?

You could try this to test the switch post

Have to tried to short the posts of the solenoid together (use a screwdriver, touch both solenoid posts)....does the starter try to turn over the engine? You can take the spark plugs out to lighten the resistive load on the engine.
If the starter cranks over the engine strongly, let us know and we can explore your options from there.
ALWAYS start with a GOOD Battery.

Found the problen.
The wires going to the lanyard were so corroded that thay didn't connect. Had to install new wires from the electronic box. It cranks over, now I just have to make I run
