1995 sportster 657x engine. I was wonder if anybody could tell me what the cable does on the carb. The cable goes from the carb to the lower part of the engine. When you give it throttle it will move the arm on the engine. What does this thing do and if it is not hook up right will it cause problems?
thanks
troy

Someone correct me if I am wrong but I believe that goes to the oil injection pump. You need it to be hooked up properly unless you are pre-mixing

If it is not hooked up your oil injection pump will go to full rich mode. It will eventually foul your plugs and therefore loose top end.

Thanks for the help, I have got it hooked up right now. I am still having problems with the engine not running right. I had a seadoo mech. rebuilt my carbs and then put them on. It will run at idle and low speed but when you go full throttle it will run for about 5 sec. then run about half throttle with I have throttle at full. Mechanic said that I need to if choke makes it better when it starts acting up. I tried that and it died. I could not get it to start after that. Had it towed in. Took the carbs of and check the filter, it was clean put back together still same problem. Well on run full throttle for 5 sec. I check the full lines for leak and did not hear anything. Did I need to turn out High speed need? It is idling a little rough sometimes.
