Hi Guys,

Considering part-ex'ing my 1998 GTX Ltd for a 2002 GTX 4 Stroke.

It has been well maintained and used mostly on Freshwater, especially recently - It has 200 plus hours on it though (just been serviced).

Is a 200 hour 4 stroke worth pursuing?!

Cost is around $5,000 by the time I convert it from British Pound.

Main worry is around the hours rather than the cost.

Also, for my average usage after 4 years of owning this for example, It would have racked up a total of 360 hours (naturally it'll be maintained and winterised perfectly) - Would anyone want to touch this ski after 360 hours?!!

Cheers,

-Phil

well i bought my 96 gsx with 360 hours. lasted 3 months then blew up on me. older ski and 2-stroke so it could be different for a 4-stroke no one knows how long they last yet.

Ive seen an 07 rxp 215hp with over 3000hrs. I think for an 02 200hrs is normal, my 2004 sportster 4tec i think has about 150 and will probably be over 200 buy then end of the season. As long as it was well taken car of then you should be fine. If its supercharger witch i dont think they were in 02???? it need a full rebuild ever 100hrs. Now the price,For example Ive seen 2006 rxp/rxt's with 215hp and about 50hr for $5,500-6,000 so i think the price is to high.

Guys,

Thanks for the responses!

It is a 155hp so non supercharged. How much does it normally cost for a supercharger rebuild if I wer to look at a Supercharged model instead?

With regards to the price, it is a bit high I agree, but they are (in my opinion) a little more pricey in the UK. Exchange rate for currency doesn't help either.

Thanks for the advice and I'm glad a 4 stroke isn't seen too negatively with these kind of hours on it.
