Hey there, needing some help ideas on the engine hatch. Replaced the struts with heavier duty but the problem is the angle. If you ya e a 230 would you confirm if yours is like the pic or send a pic if different. I’m thinking the mount angle is causing the difficulty opening the first 6-8”, from there the struts do their thing.

Mine looks just like yours. It's a pain in the ass to get it started but once it's going up its fine. Hate it also.

Thank you. Yeah I’ve looked thru a bunch of pics and looks like the angle was changed. Thinking I’ll mess with in the fall as it’s in the water already. The book even says it’s supposed to auto open and if not there’s a problem. Poor design. Wife has a bum shoulder and it’s a pain for her to open.

i wonder if flipping the bracket over would help with the angle? maybe or maybe not. not sure if it needs to be lower point or a higher point.

They sure did change it. Mine is the same as yours. I did notice that my shocks are hitting on the lid in this location. Today I'm working on tightening up a loose starter wire that is making one of my engines slow to start and not starting sometimes.
