I need some advice. I am upgrading my 215 to a 255 with all appropriate parts. My question is should i purchase the Inter cooler relocation pipes and hardware with a BOV. Is it worth 800.00 in sound, throttle response and performance? Can you even hear the BOV when under way?

I am asking here rather than the 4 tec boat forum because most of those guys don't modify their boats. I need real life experience help.

Anyone know where to get a "255" decal?

bov's are unecessary on our skis. The leaks and potential leaking of boost is a killer....unless you're really running a high boost turbo.

I'm a sleeper fan myself...no advertising of extra hp for me.

It will be a performance set up. However i spoke to several race part vendors and the parts for the intercooler do increase efficiency and are manufactured with the flange to accommodate the HKS BOV, We do a lot of wave jumping in my boat (Sportster) off Sebastian inlet in fl and in the river with so many big boats. I was told the BOV does reduce the strain on the supercharger as well as rebuild boost quickly, It has a lot to do with the new aluminum piping and relocating the IC right close to the SC.

No doubt an exic will breath easier than a 215's oem.

Before you write in stone what a salesman tells you...go talk with some wave jumping pwc'rs...ask any of them if they use bov's.

I'm willin to bet you'll not find a single one.

I understand what you are saying but i am friends with a design engineer for Seadoo, I asked him the same question. He said the intercooler relocation set up is great and since it has the flange for the BOV it certainly won't hamper performance and it will benefit the clutches. I have googled other seadoo's with the BOV and i do like it. My BMW 335i has one. I respect your opinion though and thanks for your advice. Since we are changing it to a 255 with a tune i think it will benefit me. I will post some video when we are done.
