Pulled engine 2 new oil pumps screen etc.
Cooling plate fine, thermostat fine, exhaust cool to touch running out of water. Raw water fine. 5 minutes in overheats. Canddoo has fault codes for intake sensor a different conversation

Which pump? I think I’ve tried everything. It shouldn’t overheat using hose water correct?

Hi so new sensors, new oil pumps both, pulled thermostat and opening with hot water on it. Started 5 times with water. Exhaust seems cool. Still in limp with P0197 code?? Frustrated to say the least.

The jetpump…that is where the cooling water comes in from the lake.
Sorry no all clear. Can I remove the thermostat and not use one? Dealer was going to pull and put oil pumps so I did that. Screens were clean

You can remove the thermostat but that doesn't sound like your problem. I think you either have a blockage somewhere or you have the hoses routed incorrectly. Is it the exhaust temp or engine temp that is triggering? When they overheat, they get very hot to the touch at and around the sensors.

Engine temperature. Hoses are correct. I pulled this lemon engine 5 times. Replaced everything I can think of. Dealer couldn’t figure it out. So I can only think thermostat. Tomorrow I’ll pull it out and let it run. Just strange I checked thermostat. Engine only has 3 hours on it. Blew #2 cylinder probably from overheating. Purchased it from ass who stripped guts out cam so cheaper to buy rebuilt from Seadoo I put it back so no warranty. Changed sensors once dealer and I just did both again. Wired correctly. Dealer thought it was oil pumps so pulled and replaced. Thanks for your help I’ll remove tomorrow let you know. Any other ideas?

I don’t explain well but think you get most of it

Check water pump impeller and check actual flow from the water pump. Had one years ago that had a stripped impeller that would slip and decrease flow but seemed tight when inspected. It's left handed thread. Check all flow passages.

So back at it all hose’s correct and thermostat. P197 code engine light on and limp. Disconnect battery cleared codes on Candoo. Start back up. No code on Candoo however limp light and same code.???? Any thoughts. Can I get it out of limp mode.

Not until you correct the problem and it stops throwing the code.

What is the actual engine temp? Have you checked your connections in the temp sender circuit? High resistance will give a false readings and make it think it is overheating. You have to check it at the ECU. Are you getting good flow from the water pump?

It’s cold when I clear it. I started it and light pops on. Staying in limp. Yes flow. Water and coolant flowing hoses correct. Exhaust cold when running. Has to be wire or something I’m missing. Not that good on checking resistance or where to start. I changed exhaust sensor just in case. Not understanding why when starting throwing code. It’s not showing on Candoo cleared codes. Staying on machine
