2016 GTI 130 - enough power for basic water sports?

We have had a 2004 GTI RFI LE (110hp) for many years, like the ski taught my now college age kids to ski and wakeboard behind it. I am not looking for a high performance ski. It would be nice if I didn't need to worry if the kids or their friends have it out, but might like a bit more power than the 2004.

Looking to upgrade and near me is a very well kept 2016 GTI 130, but I am worried that it will be underpowered given the weight is more.

Anyone using the 130 for basic (I.e we are not that great...) water sports- skiing, tube towing, wakeboarding ? if so how does it work out?

thanks

I don’t have a 130 (but do have a 2007 GTI SE 155), but from what I have seen and tried with friends, basic recreational water sports are very doable with a 130. You will likely have 2 on the ski, and one wakeboarding or skiing. Towing a tube with one or two on the tube is possible with a 130 too. Everything you have been doing with your 110 will be very similar with the 130. I don’t think you would notice a difference.
