Hi All,
Was hoping to get some feedback about purchasing the 2013 RXT-X-aS 260 beast. Trading up from 2008 rxp-x 255.
Here in Australia ,we get ripped with new model costing $25.5K, but have the option through a mate who got one through an auction for $19k.
Have read they are a great ski and fit 3 , unlike my old rxp-x that fits 2. As I have 3 sons, only 1 needs to miss out on each ride opposed to 2 with the old ski.
Cheers.

Great ski but I'd stay away from the suspension model. They are very top heavy and just handle weird in my opinion.

I have an 09 RXT-X 255 which is also a 3-seater. I truly enjoy the ski and love how much room there is on the seat. I have yet to have three people on the seat, but there is room for sure, (I own two skis so we normally go out in pairs which means we don't need to put three on a ski).

The new technology in the 2013's is amazing. I am not familiar with what the "aS" is. But i can tell you that the ski you are looking at is a monster... If the "aS" model is the suspension model, they are a bit top heavy as the center of gravity is higher. And a few years back they had some substantial sinking issues because of how the upper fit over the lower but did not keep water out. From all I have read, the sinking issue was resolved in 2011 I believe.

So, you are willing to spend the money required in your neck of the woods, it would make for a nice ride. By comparison, I bought my 09 used from a dealer that bought the entire inventory from a dealer that went out of business for $9999.99 and my 2010 GTX 155 for $10,201.50.

Almost sounds like it costs twice as much over there..

Unfortunately everything here in Australia is overpriced.

If you want to consider an alternative give some thought to a 215 hp model. I have a wake pro and it is capable of 65mph which is plenty in my view. I don't know if the 260 hp model is governed, but in North America I understand the untampered top speed is around 68 mph in current models. The premium from a GTR 215 to RXT as260 is a whopping 42% here in Canada. I also find that in sport mode the acceleration is more than adequate in the 215 hp model. A GTR215 lists for about $12,900 CDN and can likely be purchased for less than 12K. It is a no frills, relatively lighter model that has one agenda...performance. The GTR 215 is around 200 pounds lighter than the RXT. The other alternative is the GTX 215 which will sit 3. I still find the "three passenger" idea a bit of a stretch, particularly if you have teenagers. I would go with 2 skis if you can, and keep the old one.

The Australian model will not be governed to 68 so top speed should be somewhere around 72 or so. Not sure about the heavier aS model though, but should still be greater than 68.
