Used to get 69 mph and now only top out at 59.
Water tonight was flat no wind, no weeds in intake....???

A GTI limited 155 should not be anywhere near 69mph. Even 59mph is a bit of a stretch. They are usually between 55-57mph.

Cool, I know it is weird. When I put it in sport mode that's what comes out. Hummm why did it reduce by 10 mph
Thanks

Check your speed with a GPS.

Im betting your speedo is inconsistent. That speed is WAY to fast for a 155. By 20 MPH or so.

Does it feel like it slowed down?

That speedo runs off the on board GPS I believe. Could be a malfunctioning GPS maybe? Erratic reading.

Ou know what's funny, I am driving my 08 rxt 215 my throttle is very close to the end and she can still stay with me. My speedo is reading 63 to 66

Weird, going to take out the GPS tomorrow

I hate to say it but there might be something wrong with your RXT then lol. All kidding aside here's a video of my RXT against my friend's FX HO. He outruns the 155s with ease. You can see about a min into the video how it always ends.

You are right,,,

I saw the speed and 155 in the same sentence and jumped the gun.. LOL

But I still say no way a stock 155 69 MPH... Or 59 MPH for that matter.

Not trying to be mean or negative, just saying something WAS wrong. It is still wrong but closer I think,,,

K, went out tonight, waves but was able to get a great ride

Not really. And 58 is Great for that ski/engine.

If you do an impeller to help for top end it will suffer on the low end.

Updated intake grate will add drag in calmer water but help in choppy water.

That engine was designed for all around general use and it does that well.

If you want more speed you really need to look at a new ski with a super charger which will have a 215 and larger engine (215, 255, and a 260).

That's more like it. As far as increasing speed on a 155 is tough. In order to increase speed you need to increase power. An impeller may help but it may also hurt your speed if you don't have the horsepower to spin a taller pitch.

In other words sell the 155 and get a 215 or 260 if you wanna go faster and mod that. Those are much easier to increase the output on.

Funny how we posted pretty much identical advise at the same time almost. Haha
