Sounds like that's the auto generated message that is displayed every 100 hours; regardless of the condition of the motor. A check engine indicator is more serious.
Only the dealer can reset it or you can if you purchase CanDoo Pro.
It's comparable to the oil change reminder on your car even if you change your own oil.
BTW, I'd be very concerned if the oil got so low it went in to limp mode. Sounds like previous owner did not maintain the ski well.
