Hi I bought a 2012 GTI 155 SE with 15 hrs on it a couple months ago and yesterday was the first day I was able to take it out for my first ride. Within a couple minutes I could tell there was something wrong with it. When I put it in sport mode it would only go maybe 37-38 mph and then start to bog out losing most of its acceleration ( was not using the green learners key) It seems kindda jerky. Would anyone know what is causing this. Also when I stopped on the lake to a idle it shut off and took me 20 mins to get it started again leaving me stranded in the middle of the lake. Finally got it going again but had the same issues with acceleration. Could it be something as simple as replacing the spark plugs? Any thoughts on this would be great.

Hey Mang, you have a remarkably reliable ski, yank the weeds and shit out from underneath the intake and you'll be good to go.

Do you know what kind of RPMs you were getting?

Did the engine rev but you didn't have good performance?

Based on your post I assume you did not do a test ride not a compression test? Those are crucial when buying a ski. But also because it helps us help you. If you did ride it you could tell us how it was before compared to the issue you are having.

Let us know the details please,,,

Not really sure what the RPMs were but im sure they were not high. That was the first time I had it out. I bought it in mid april so it was too cold for a test run. But with only 15 hrs on it I figured it was practically brand new. Like I said it would hit 37-38 and then jerk a bit and slow down.

ahh man ive been out since march haha ... nothing a wet suit doesnt fix lmao..

sounds like you have something stuck in the impeller or something stuck inside the intake grate.. when you say a "bog" can you describe the bog? is it more of a vibration could also have sucked up some rocks and damaged the wear ring.. assuming you are new to a pwc learning to describe the problem is more important here then knowing how to fix it.

15 hours on a ski isnt brand new for sure and no matter if the ski has 1 hour or 150 hours something can go wrong on the ski.. always start at the most reasonable and work your way to the more intensive problems..

Thanks everyone, I will check to see if there is something stuck inside there. It would have been in there when I bought it.

There was nothing stuck inside, took it to a sea doo dealer and got it hooked up and found out the computer is shot. $1100 to fix. It has a warrenty left but its only good for the United States and I live in Canada. Super pissed!

You can pick up a used ecu for considerably less if brp doesn't resolve your problem...

Possibly bring it to another dealer for a second opinion.. Not saying your seadoo dealer is crap but some have been known to hose guys

How can that warranty be confined only to the US? BRP is a Canadian Company for goodness sake. Press the issue, they should fix it.
