About 4 weeks ago, I decided to accidently flood out my engine in the driveway. Im sure your laughing!
Over about 10 hours, I got most of the water out through multiple flushings. I did not take it out to burn the water out but tried from the driveway. The next day, I took her out and noticed I could not go over 10mph. So, I changed the wear ring based on recommendations from here.

Yesterday, I took her out and got a P0524 error code, could not go over 3000rpm or 10mph. I brought her in and changed the oil. The oil was chaulk tan like I had some water in there. I cycled the oil again numerous times. Finally, I cleared the fault code for p0524.

Today, I took the boat out and hit 5000+rpm w a max speed of 20mph. However, the boat is still not picking up and takes minutes to get to 20mph. Also, that is the max speed with the throttle all the way down.

Did I not hook up the throttle cable correctly?
Could I have blown something or a gasket?
Is it time to bite the bullet and take it in?

FYI...I do not have a fault code.

Thanks for the Help? Sammy G

How many oil and filter changes have you done? (The filter part is critical)

When you say you tried to burn the water out in the driveway, what do you mean? How long did you let it run?

Did you disconnect the throttle cable at some point? Why?

Details will help,

Battery disconnect and reconnect?

Get a borescope and see if there is rust in the cylinders. If they have rust, then you will need to re hone them.

I did about 5 oil changes. Changed the oil filter 3 times w the last time yesterday.

I took out the impellor and replaced the wear ring. I disconnect the 2 cable by the impellor shroud. One for steering then the other for fwd/reverse.

The engine seems to lack power. If I have the speed lever all the way down or forward, I get 5000rpm. Max speed like 10mph. Then I get a random busrt of speed/power. Then I lose it..them I get the power back then I lose it.

Is your boat supercharged?

I had a 2008 180 Challenger SE 215hp and it did the same thing. Felt like I was pulling an elephant and the boat just wouldn't go.

Turned out the Supercharger clutch went on it, so it wasn't building any boost.

Would pull your plugs, get a compression gauge and see what you are making for cylinder pressure as well.
