Bought my first jet ski this spring and was fortunate to find the above ski in excellent shape with 32 hours. The previous owner ran it the first summer and parked it in his garage for three years. It included a spring wake up by a sea doo dealer which included a new battery, drained and flushed the fuel, oil change, new plugs, etc. The dealer reported the ski in perfect mechanical condition.
The ski has run flawless this summer and have put another 30 hours on it. So supercharger scheduled maintenance is 100 hrs or two years. So would you guys with the knowledge get the supercharger overhauled this fall or run it to 100hrs?

Rebuild it this fall. The bearing cages get brittle as they age regardless of hours. If they break, the parts will be in the motor and they only way to get them out is to pull the motor.

That would suck, I'll get it rebuilt. You probably rebuild your own but would you recommend a rebuilder such as PWCMuscle?

PWCMuscle for sure. I sent mine there. Rebuilding your own really isn't worth it. A quality tool set exceeds $200 The cheap eBay set will last for maybe two rebuilds. If you had 3 or 4 SCs then it would be worth buying the good set and doing your own. But for 1, not worth it.

It's actually cheaper to have PWCmuscle do it. They did mine and it's running great. Like Coastiejoe said its not worth it unless you have multiple supercharged skis. Superchargers run extremely high rpms, I'd hate to mess up a rebuild.

Now I am nervous about running mine. Same scenario 2010 Wake Pro 215 bought with 30 hrs on it , had a major oil leak where the shaft and bellows are , 1 liter per hour . Got that sorted out , now I want to run for the rest of season but I am afraid of the supercharger holding together as Coastiejoe saying the bearing cages will be getting brittle with age ( the machine sat outdoors not used for two years thru Canadian winters) going out this weekend and had plans to run all fall but now I am not sure. If I do run I don't think I will hammer the RPM's and maybe give Sport mode a break.

2010 Wake Edition Pro
I will either have it rebuilt this fall or go with a rebuilt , have to look at the exchange rate and customs duty ( boarder issues) on back and forth with core and rebuild.

Sorry to hear about the oil leak glad you got it sorted out. I have another question on the sc rebuild and 100 hr service reset for the smart guys. I noticed PWCMuscle sells the Can Pro buds home system for maintenance resets so I am assuming dealers don't like to reset the service time if they don't do the work. We all like these toys so do you guys in the know purchase the Can Pro system? or is there a trick to resetting without it. Also what happens if you don't reset it like does the ski go into limp mode ?

Just for the peace of mind , I would rebuild the SC now and stick to the 100 hr sked like glue .

In 2007 as a result of a law suit they made a change but still belive that its design is flawed and may result in more suits so keep your documentation up to date.
