2011 RXT-X IBR sensor light is on. Mechanic said i might need a new motor, it is currently working. HELP!

Check all connectors going to IBR clean them good if need be
make sure sure you have a good battery, I doubt its the ibr motor
very rarely do the go bad, Most likely ibr board, Good luck

thanks for the tips! I’ll check that tonight. I’ll attach a photo to my reply of the condition of the motor. As you can see there is some sort of paste coming out of the top, is this just build up of crap from the outside or something leaking from inside? Also the bottom of it....cracking? Normal? Thanks!

I had very similar problem with my 2010 gtx 155, I took motor out there was alot of carbon build up on magnet and motor brushes inside witch i did clean , and still was the same, I then took board out and found positive (Red)power connector soldering inside board completely black not making contact causing all kind of issues and many limp mode time when out riding, After soldering it back voilaaa
all was good again, I even bought a used motor at the time and it was the same
Im almost positive that is only build up on top of the motor
