2011 GTX 155 New IBR Actuator Help

I’ve searched the forums without luck.

I have a pair of 2011 GTX 155s with about 70 hrs each. The IBR went out on one of the skis and I ordered a brand new actuator (part number 278003040). After plugging it in, I’m getting the C2102 fault code, and the IBR light in the dash (no engine light or long beep on initial startup). It appears the ski recognizes a good actuator, but it’s not communicating with it through the manual IBR override or natural startup sequence.

My question is does the new actuator need to be configured through the B.U.D.S hookup? Or is there a step I’m missing to getting the actuator in the correct communication with the rest of the system?

Thanks for the help. Let me know what additional info might be needed.

The code indicates a blocked or stuck gate , I would remove the two bolts that go from the actuator to the IBR bracket and then try it and see if it moves or codes. Did you check the gate assembly for wear or bushings?

Yes. I even hooked up the new actuator to the other ski without bolting it in and got the same fault code.

Maybe there’s a chance I got a bad actuator.

It shouldn't do it on another ski as long as the part numbers are the same, sounds bad.

Make sure that the connector from the ski to the actuator is clean and free from corrosion.

If you are getting the code with it electrically connected but not installed than you either have a bad actuator, or bad connection.

The IBR system is very susceptible to voltage and current fluctuations. If the computer senses an increase in current it will assume that the IBR is jammed.

Also make sure the battery is fully charged.

Got it. All the electrical checked out good. I made an appointment with the dealer after talking to the service department. They indicated it needed to be calibrated with BUDS tool since it was new.
