Was thinking about purchasing a 2011 GTS 130 from a friend and was wondering if anyone had comments or experiences they could share about this particular Sea Doo, or a similar year/model. The only other Sea Doo I've rode was a 2007 GTI 130 at a rental place.

A specific question I have is regarding gas. On average, how many hours can you get out of a tank (15.9 gallons) going at an average speed of say 20 mph?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

riding only 20 mph you can expect probably THREE FULL days of riding.. the 130 is very, very fuel efficent with eco mode..

on the other hand i highly doubt youll only ride 20 mph.. one small crack of the throttle and youll be hooked with it at 45 mph.. still at that speed the 130 is VERY fuel efficent.

ive rode a 2013 130 and its a very user friendly ski.. comfortable, very stylish, its light weight and corners very well.. not too unstable where youll have an extremely uncomfortable ride and you can ride it all day yet unstable enough to know your on a ski and when you want to have fun jumping wakes or playing around.. you can. (if that makes any sense to you, lol)

the 130 engine is very reliable and requires not too much maintenance.. depending on price point and hours logged on the machine it could be a really great ski for you..

good luck with the purchase and if you decide to get it post up some pics !!

We bought our 2011 GTS 130's new and had a blast with them. They are comfortable, stage and go up to 55 mph. Good on gas. We run ours pretty fast and usually spend 3 hours out on the Columbia River with a half a tank left when we are done. Great machines and we've not had one single problem since buying them.

The 130 engine is pretty small and therefore is prety good when it comes to fuel efficiency. Like anything, if you keep it floor or you play a lot, you will go through more fuel.

For cruising around it will last all day long for you I would think.

My GTX is a 155 and my GF gets more than a weekend out of it. My RT-X is a 255 and I MUST make sure it is full or I will get a low light after 4 hours of plying HARD..

If I ride it with the intent to keep fuel in it, I can easily goo all day and probably a second day. But,,, I can't keep my finger of the trigger.. LOL

Thanks for all the feedback. I'm a pretty experienced rider (about 7 years) and would prefer to buy an RXP or RXT model, but it's a bit out of my price range and I'm really looking for one for the entire family. A year ago I finally got to ride a more powerful ski (friend's '05 RXP 215) and it was amazing. Given that was my last experience, it's pretty hard to move on from that to an entry-level ski, but I know it's not just for me. I've been looking around where I live (California) to see if anyone rents the more powerful Sea Doos, but I haven't had any luck.

But again, thanks for the feedback.

I truly love my RXT-X.

I smile every time I hit the throttle,,

Amazing machine.

GTX is a super comfortable machine and great for family.

That's how I felt when I got to ride the RXP. It was a pretty choppy day on the lake and the thing just hits the waves so much smoother than any other ski I've rode.
