Hello Community, I'm looking to purchase a Challenger 180 255 with 30 Hours for $18,000. I found the boat on Facebook Marketplace. The boat's interior is in good condition, but I'm a little concerned about the exterior as it has some deep scratches, and I wanted to know how I would get the Bottom Hull cleaned or repaired to normal condition. I've attached pictures of the damage. The owner did get an estimate of an approximate cost to repair the damage, and he said it was around $1500. All other electronics and engine are running correctly. Do you guys think I should stay away or go for it? What things should I look out for on the water test, not being an expert?

(scratches only on one side)

The damage there is easily repairable. I would guess though you are looking at 1-2K.

As for the below water stuff. I would really try to take a good look there as sometimes obvious superficial damage draws your eyes away from potential damage that will much more costly and harder to deal with.

From the limited view in the photos, you should be able to blast off the stuff off of the bottom but you might want to grab a good light and crawl under there to inspect as much as you can. Below the waterline damage is never superficial.
