Just ordered a new gauge cluster as the old one is not readable to due the sun killing the lcd. After I replace it do I need to do anything to make it work or is it plug and play?
Definitely NOT plug and play. Will need to be flashed using BUDS for the correct model and then it will need to be married to the ECU which can be done with BUDS or another aftermarket software program. The flash has to be done using BUDS due to copyright law.
No, the dealer can't change the hours on the cluster. It will read 0. For your year, hours are kept in both the ECU and the cluster.
Correct, completely different gauge in 2011. On that gauge, it doesn't keep hours at all. It only reads the hours from the ECU which can be changed on those and newer models.
The only gauges that are plug and play are the 2005 and older on the 4tecs.
Sorry to bother you. What do you think these fault codes are? I just bought a brand new battery last august and my service guy said it is bad already and I need a new one. I only used it twice.
Put ski back in the water this past weekend after a ton of repairs and maintenance. Running like a new ski and hit consistent 60-62 mph on good water. Was nice to actually read the cluster for a change.
