Hey guys,
i have a 2009 RXT-X. Took the ski out today for a cruise around NYC...Everything was going smooth untill about mid way..I noticed a vibration coming from the rear end of the ski when I would rev the engine above 4000rpm. I initially thought to myself that I must have sucked some garbage into the jet pump which wrapped around the impeller shaft so I stopped the engine immediatly and jumped into the water to try to feel if anything was sucked inside.
I didnt feel anything so I had no choice but to ride the ski back to the launch ramp keeping the engine RPMs no more than 4000.
When I took the ski out of the water on its trailer, I inspected the intake grate, the imeller shaft, the impelller itself and could not find any debris in those places. The impeller did not seem to be damaged in any way. No nicks on the blades. I never sucked anything into the ski in the past.
I would like to know if anything has any input/ideas WHERE and WHY the vibration could be from IF i didnt suck anything into the intake. What parts could have gone bad (i.e...from normal wear and tear) which would create this vibration which starts after 4000rpms? I have 58hours on the ski which is all from cruising at constant engine speeds (ski is not abused in other words).
any input will be greatly appriciated.
Thanks,
M
