i have a 2009 RXT-X with approx 79 hours on it.
The ski runs perfect, no problems. Full power.

I am planning on winterizing in the next month or so.

I was wondering......
Considering the problems that some people have with the supercharger bearings, supercharger clutch... Is it recommended to do service on these parts or any other high wear parts in the spring time even though the ski is running great??

I am asking because I would prefer to do "Preventitive" maintenance than have a break down in the water or have the supercharger go out of service in the middle of next summers season.

If any1 knows, please inform me of any parts which would be recommended to service / replace.

thanks

It is recommended to check the supercharger every 100 hours. If it is running fine I would not really mess with it due to the fact that your 2009 RXT-X has titanium washers in it and not the ceramic washers. I would change the oil and check the jet pump grease.

I have checked the jet pump greese in the beginning of this season. Everything was already lubed up.

The problem is that next year, I will hit 100 hours on the ski in the middle of the season and I don't want to have the ski out of service to inspect the suet charger.

What does the supercharger "maintanence" entail? Do you have to change any specific parts?

Not really no. The computer may kick on a maint light but you can take it in and have it reset. It will not mess anything up if you do not get it in exactly at 100 hours. You should be fine until the end of next season though.

Yeah but we put on about 40-50 hours a season and by the end of next season, it will have 120+ hours..

I wouldnt want to wait that long.

Also, Is there any way to "reset" the maint light or you must take it to the dealer in order to do that?

It must be taken to a dealer to do this. I know of a lot of people that do not check their supercharger every 100 hours and they have not had a problem. If you do not spin it a lot or jump a huge number of wakes then you are fine. Sea-Doo added another hole drilled so that the bearings and the washers (the ones they were having problems with) stayed more lubricated and has cut down on alot of supercharger problems. I know we charger like $350 or something like that if it needs to be rebuilt.

Yeah, the only type of riding i do is cruising.. No spin outs / abuse / etc.
I mean i do give it full throttle once in a while on flat straight-a-ways but that is about it.

Other than the supercharger, are there any other "wear" and "tear" parts which should be inspected?

At this time I can really not think of anything. As long as you keep it serviced you should not have a problem. The only thing is if you have not changed spark plugs in it I would do so maybe by the start of next season. Like I said I have seen some of the 03 or 04's that still have the ceramic washers in them and they are doing fine. They may open then up every now and then like you but they do not abuse them.

I change the plugs every season when I get an oil change.
Jet pump was lubed also each season.

I have been contemplating on getting the new RXT-X 260 (hopefully the 2011 model) for next year.. Have you heard about any problems with those machines???

It seems to me that everytime SeaDoo makes a new machine, its better to wait 1-2 yrs before they perfect it and get all the bugs out.

Whats your opinion?

The 2010 RXT-X is an amazing ride. We had one down as a demo and the new S3 hull is just mind blowing how well it handles. As for me I personally like the 2009 RXT-X. The only problems we have seen so far with the 2010's is that a few of the brake motors have went out. I sold a 2009 RXT iS to a guy new and he has not brought it back yet with a complaint. He loves it. For the money difference they are not worth fooling with unless you just want the greatest thing out.
