Since I bought my first 4-stroke Saturday I took it out for a ride. 199 hours so you probably already know it needs a Supercharger rebuild. Probably one of the reaons the guy sold it. I'm going to go through the maintenance and would like some input on any problem areas I need to look at. I downloaded the owners manual and can't find the exact repair manual but there is a 2008 Manual on the forum. Of course I'm gonna change the oil and check the coolant. The ski is 19 years old but that doesn't mean they replaced the coolant. The guy I bought it from told me it wasn't a closed coolant system so I'm guess 7 years minimum on coolant. I still rather work on these things than ride them but riding is the proof that you are "spot on" or have more work to do. :D

My way is the check and verify so I'll be looking at the 2-stroke items I know about and adding on as I poke around. One thing is I can't see if anything is leaking in the hull when I put it in the water. Input is appreciated.

I got in touch with a guy in Florida that restores the gauges on these skis but I found you can buy the housing for these gauges off Ebay. I'm used to pulling the face off of the old style, repairing and resealing. Of course the price for my ski is $250. Almost enough money for me to make it a DIY venture. :D Lots of his stuff is $150 which I like much better. He also said my gauge package gets a replacement LCD so I guess he does't replace the flim. It is pretty cool having new parts available for a ski... I'm used to the old 2-strokes where improvisation is the code of the day. :)

On the Supercharger, WSM sells the torque washers so no need to buy the whole kit. I do suspect that in some instances there is no need to rebuild the complete Supercharger but since I didn't do the work and trust no one but me, I'm gonna do the rebuild and I'll also check the intercooler for leaks. I ordered a WSM Rebuild Kit from my supplier. I like WSM, some may not agree. I do wonder what this ski would be worth on the market when I address these few items and get the Preventive Maintenance work done. I'm thinking $5k but this ski might be a keeper.
